i haven't played shipyard to know whether the end goal bonuses are unbalanced or not. i haven't seen that to be the case so far. but yeah, navegador is great, but shipyard is miles better, imo. really satisfying to build something, so much more to think about.

This game was not even on my radar! Thanks for bringing the game to my attention, Richard.

boardgames for 2p SHOULD have randomization elements. See concordia.

I noticed that you rate Shipyard higher than this. I've been trying to decide between the two games as far as having a rondel game in my collection. I've heard Navegador does have very little luck to it, but also that Shipyard can be a tad bit random/unbalanced. Is Shipyard the one that's clearly better for you? Or are they both good in different ways?

Gah! Why is this so hard to get in the United States?!? It looks amazing! But I refuse to order (yet another) game from Amazon.de (because my wallet is sad and my board game storage is full, and then some). So, I'll just have to keep an eye out for a reprint.

I like your Chess analogy. I used to play a lot of Chess, and when I was white, I always opened with the same moves. But as soon as your opponent tries something new, you need to be able to leave script and adapt. So, if someone only plays this two player with the same person, the one who lost last time better try something new ;-)

Thanks ever so much for these amazing runthroughs!

Navegador vs Francis Drake, which classic is better?

I Agree. Excellent Game. But, the cover art is pretty ugly. I would not even pick this box up if i see it at a game store. Luckily, someone introduced it to me and I had to a chance to play a two player game. Instant buy! 3 player games are the most wild. Everyone have to keep changing their strategy every few turns.
