I missed 2 months due to an extreme sickness and barely lost any size. If I can vomit everyday and not lose much size, 1 workout won’t do shit.

I think a well-trained subject can maintain strength & size training VERY sporadically, as little as once per month.

The only thing that study illuminates in the end, is that deloads/detraining is beneficial. Deload weeks are a a part of just about every mesocycle created by knowledgeable lifters.

There was only 14 test subjects, which is 7 per group. Also, they might claim the differences between the groups were insignificant, but if you actually check the numbers, that's not the case. CTS group has significantly more deviation between individual subjects and is 10% bigger, stronger and heavier on average, which is not insignificant. Also they gained 2-3% more muscle mass on average, which seems insignificant, but that's compared to the starting mass. Comparison of groups progress shows about 10% more progress in the CTS group. But lets ignore all of that.

There were only 3 working sets per training day, yet it was in the hypertrophy range (10 reps).
That is far from optimal for either hypertrophy or strength training in just about anyones opinion, just for different reasons. Won't get into the details here, but it makes sense that they achieved similar results.

In short, while an interesting study, there's not much valuable information to extract from the results except deload weeks are good.

Again, not a bad video, I agree with the conclusion, but there were better ways to explain it than presenting such a flawed study.

I eat like a bodybuilder whether I’m lifting or not. So if I don’t lift, I do get fat. I can’t take a break from my workouts or I do indeed get fat.
