I have this radio. I acquired it by a trade, many years ago from a local cb'er. The Realistic Navaho TRC 23B is manufactured by Hitachi and it shares the same chassis as it's mobile brother, the Realistic TRC-24 and also a few Pinto 23's sold by JC Penney at that time period. Radio Shack sold these radios from 1971-1973. The next generation Navaho TRC-23C and Realistic TRC-24A were also manufactured by Hitachi and they added a delta tune switch, electronic switching and circuit design changes which allowed the use of a stock dynamic microphone instead of a ceramic microphone which was used on the previous models.

I had a TRC-23B at home in the mid 70's ... with a 19 foot Shakespeare Marine Whip Antenna on the 4th floor...it worked great for the time!.. I was Spitfire Base in Mississauga

Best base station ever. As I recall these were 5 watt outputs. Had one in the 70's and could reach way beyond any Cobra of the time

My old base station rig. $159.00 if I recall. It was a short few years of my life but seemed like a life time.

That's cool, I haven't heard businesses on the radio.

I had one of these back in the 70;s, ran it for several years, mounted a Siltronix VFO to it...had a blast. ~Jack, VEG
