I took this spooky map and posed as many Eldrich horror creatures beyond human comprehension as possible doing completely normal things, like going to the store last week.

The best of these GM maps take the ‘Frog in a Pot’ method in telling a good horror story: the subtle changes from civilian to surreal is as undetectable to us, as a frog in a steadily heating pot, until it’s too late.

Referring to American suburbia as “just like frogger” Is messes up from how true it is

The Netherlands:
Dense walkable areas - check
Small cozy houses - check
Old school architecture - check

I think the librarian would like a map like this based in the Netherlands

10:15 closed captions really nailed that one 😂

The thing I found weird about this map was no street parking, few houses having garages, but a central parking lot for the neighborhood. It's like someone unfamiliar with American suburbia tried to make American suburbia based on their existing expectations.

Also there's some stuff under the map.

I looked this up once - I believe baths are just as sanitary as showers unless you're *really* dirty. If you're bathing regularly, either will keep you just as clean!

I'm definitely not a horror person, but, I watch you play horror style games/maps and suddenly I'm not as scared and I enjoy it more. Strange...

I love maps with backgrounds like this: a lit up city in the dark. I always loved looking at the lights of the city, wondering what was going on down the hill. I spend more time staring at the background of Downtown in Holywood in Vampires the Masquerade than playing the damn game xD

I remember how mind-blowing it was as a kid visiting a new friend's house down the street, and realizing their house was just a slightly different variant of mine. With the same floor plan and everything, but different in a lot of other ways like walls and flooring and decorations. As a kid, it was a surreal experience for me.
Even now that I know it's a common thing, it's still really interesting to me when I see it.
I guess it's only even more common these days with newer houses, where you will see the same 3 houses copy-pasted 8 times on one street.

I love the premise or concept of an experience where you explore each house and learn about the inhabitants and bonus points for being spooky. Like an SCP agent walking into an emptied town and having to clear it and explore it.

Beautiful silence, with a hint of watchful eyes

17:40 I slept in an AirBnB house that was built in the early 1900s and it showed. Not a single light anywhere aside from a corner lamp, total gulf of darkness whenever I went to bed. Despite it having a full-length mirror and a rocking chair in the corners of the room, which I expected to give me untold nightmares, it was unironically the most comfortable and restful sleep I've ever had and I wish I could go back to it. It was probably the king sized bed that helped with the sleep, but even still the darkness felt somehow comforting to be in

Right there, 7:41, is exactly where I expect a jumpscare. 😳😱
"Newport Lights box." 😆

Thank GOD suburbs aren’t real, that would be a nightmare

Empty maps like this always make me think of the premise of Ara and the Empty Universe. Everyone is gone, you don't know why, and you're now searching for any signs of life. All the while you're making judgements on the living conditions people were in, especially if it happens to be especially abnormal.

29:45 That mannequin staring straight at you when you turned around, really made my skin crawl.
