That is some thing I did with my child. He kept leaving his game controllers out. I kept telling him to put them away when he was done playing. After several times, I told him the next time you leave them out, they will be thrown away. He left them out again and they went in the trash. When he found them in the trash, he was appalled and I said I told you it would happen. He started picking up after himself after that.

Discipline is needed not abuse but discipline to better kids teach them lessons soft and rough. Have to balance it.

This is how kids today should be raised 👍🏻 be strict and hard on them, but still love them and treat them fairly of course. Don’t spoil them and do everything for them. They’ll appreciate all the harsh lessons you taught them early on and thank you later and they’ll do the same to their kids later on 😂

Yep, that's the Austrian/German style! We don't make a big fuss! 😅 I mean, I was born 50 years after Arnie and even my dad still handled us like that ^^ The point is, due to my ADD - about which I didn't find out until I was in my 4th university semester -, I was labelled the slow "daydreamer" and often forgot stuff lying around, took forever to drink up, got distracted easily etc. Lost count of how often my slippers landed in the waste-paper bin. ^^

My mother whooped my ass until the day I couldn't stop laughing for whatever reason as she was trying to punish me and it was making her laugh. I remember her telling me to stop laughing so she could spank me. I believe that was the last time she tried. I got grounded after that, but I didn't mind it so it wasn't all that effective, but I understood being in trouble, and disappointing or upsetting my mom was far worse than anything they could do, so it worked out. I turned out pretty good, only been to prison once
