TomSka & Eddsworld - What Happened?

This video chronicles the complete History of TomSka and Eddsworld, the story of the Legacy, and the shape of things to come. All this information is out there already, but for new Eddheads wondering "what happened with TomSka and Eddsworld?", this is your answer.

A reminder that the stories and anecdotes within are the stories of real human beings. All claims are sourced below, and I encourage everyone to not speculate on people’s lives. I do not endorse seeking out and harassing anyone who may have wronged Tom in the past, present, or future. I used to feel not so strongly about Tomska. A funny, respectable guy, who made a few mistakes, but was still talented. After watching this video though, and having that context of him spending his own money to keep the memory of his friend alive... I have no words. He's suffered enough.

Something I think some people who don't know Tomska very well need to know, Ed's death and the actions Tom took afterwards haunt Tom mentally. He has a reoccurring nightmare of Ed coming back to life to do nothing except scold Tom for everything, and saying how disappointed he is in Tom. Tom knows more than anyone that at some parts along the way, he fucked up. He doesn't need people spreading false narratives and harrassing him online to drive that point home.

Tomska did so much for Eddsworld. It really disappoints me that he constantly gets hate for claims people made like “he’s profiting off his friend who passed away”, or he gets trashed for small, dumb mistakes he made (cough cough “Tord is cancer”). I miss him being a part of the show, but if he’s happy, I’m happy 💙

It still disgusts me to this day that this man tried his absolute best to keep the memory of his best friend alive, as well as give the fans of the show some more out of it, and he still got people online trashing him for it. It's not like the show itself was perfect and resempt from criticism, but the kind of stuff he got flack for, like being a leach to Edd's show and memory, just makes me sick still. This man saved the show when it was pretty much done for, not just for the fans, but for his best friend as well. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't still have Eddsworld today. Just a fact.

and while i understand what he said was wrong he still did many good things for edd and eddsworld as a whole. even if he said some things he probably regrets now i hope we as a community can remember him for the good he did in the eddsworld communtity and not only remember the bad things. :)

I met Tom in person a few months back at a convention he did not have the aura of a person who would do anything just for the money his decision so he can finally grieve and move on over his friends passing is understandable he’s a genuine and nice guy who just wants to be seen as that and be a member of the entertainment scene

i had the pleasure of meeting both tom and matt in the same day at a convention back in 2018, i was a very cringe teenager but they were still both so brand new and enthusiastic when talking to me, i still hold my interactions with them very close to my heart :) i also must’ve looked pretty guilty about asking tom to sign my eddsworld poster that i had just bought from matt, he was very reassuring and let me know he was happy to do it for me! now that i’m older i realise how much tom actually did for eddsworld that i didn’t even know. i’ll always respect him, he’s such a genuine and beautiful soul and i find myself enjoying his work just as much as the years pass <3

It's such a shame there are fans out there who don't recognize the tremendous amount of love and care Tom had for the project, he really gave it his all. Glad this video exists to help clear up some misunderstandings.

It is incredible to think that now that Tomska is gone, a small part is repeating and saying the same things to Matt in the style of Beyond, and apart, saying that they miss Tom's scripts, when they criticized them more than ever before, it is a cycle, Unfortunately.

I find it ironic that the fandom grilled Tom for falsely implying Tord was a "cancer" to the show when said very same fandom flamed and even threatened Tord for simply existing. The internet is seriously bipolar at times.

To be honest I think it's kind of weirdly sweet in a way that Eddsworld has gone from Edd to Tom and then finally to Matt. It kind of show just how much their friendship mattered to them all and it also shows them as a similar trio that they were in the actual cartoons, all putting in their own hardwork to make Eddsworld what it is with their own quirks. All three era's of Eddsworld are different to me and you can clearly tell when one is done by Edd, Tom or Matt. Even if Tom helped with some of Edd's old work.

It's definitely amazing to see just how real the relationship was between them all with Tom and Matt actively putting their own time on the line (and both probably dealing with a LOT of shitty "fans") to make Edd's dream continue to grow.

I'm glad Tom found closure, and even though I'm seeing some hostility towards Matt and Beyond for its issues, I hope that the fandom can learn from its sins. Also some corrections. Tom acknowledged that he couldn't consult Tord Larsson but hoped that a new voice actor for Tord would leave the real Tord alone. Also Tom and Tord were costars but not exactly friends. They had some tensions early on, which they soon buried

Before I clicked on this video I never even knew there were these false allegations towards Tom. I grew up on the happy loving side of Eddsworld, where we loved each person equally. Tom is such a nice guy and gave Eddsworld his all to keep it going. I hope those people grow up to realize they were mistakenly wrong about him. He really doesn't deserve this 💔

It’s still sad how not only Tom, but Matt’s wife, Matt, Patryk, Paul, and almost everyone in the eddsworld crew is being harassed for this. I respect and support them for what they did and respect that they didn’t wanna be associated with eddsworld anymore! Tom did his best, and now Matt’s having his go. Tom was a good man and tried his best to keep his friend’s world spinning, and, he even added some more story to it! He didn’t HAVE to do it! And he did it anyway! That’s the important part! He’s still doing amazing work to this day! It doesn’t matter WHAT that work is! Personally eddsworld is the reason I even got into art and animations- it’s awesome! But over all, for those of you reading this, leave the cast alone. Don’t just go at them with hate just because you don’t get your way. It’s not your show. And you have no control over what they do. It’s their choice and we just need to respect that. They are trying their best to keep Edds greatest work of art, going. And it’s how u know that they truly respected Edd and his creations. Thank u eddsworld for the amount of fun and laughter you gave to me in my childhood and thank you Edd for your amazing art and ideas. They will forever be known and will go down in history.

I still remember being there when Saloonatics first released. I remember the main thing people disliked was surprisingly the animation. I remember hearing a lot of “it’s super choppy” mixed with the art style being a bit more wild compared to casual Eddsworld stuff. Considering it’s arguably one of the impressive animations on the channel (in my humble opinion) it feels weird in retrospect
