His music incorporates a combination of jazz and elements from other musical genres, and often features extensive use of reharmonisations and close harmony. He is known for his energetic live performances, in which he often conducts the audience to sing harmony or play percussion parts.

That thing about making a wrong note right, it’s also a Miles Davis thing. He blew Herbie’s mind during a show; Herbie played a ‘wrong’ note, and was upset about it internally. Miles played a line which made it ‘right.’ That experience changed Herbie’s life, in a spiritual way. He’s spoken about it in interviews. Beautiful

i swear to good, When Jacob mentioned "Imagine the world is singing to you", i instantly noticed how my computer noice ran a f note, Then while singing it, Jacob starts playing in the key of F. Life is full of small wonders really.

I've only recently been able to play an instrument at an above-beginner level, and still not that fluent, but I've loved listening to different music all my life. It's incredibly uplifting that this astonishingly talented guy is about as far opposite of being a gatekeeper as you can get. He can bring out whatever musicality someone has in them.
