look, an automatic/tiptronic is better for a lot of people who daily drive in places with heavy traffic. manually shifting loses its appeal in rush hour. and for what? to impress someone who probably doesn't even own a porsche. who cares? life's too short to live to others' standards. do what you feel compelled to do.

I dont understand why a lof of people complain about the automatic gear. I have a manual 996 and i'm seriously thinking about a 997 auto. I drive it every day en nowadays there is lot off trafic and the manual is not that handy. I driven a auto last week and i must say, its not that terrible. Maybe i go for a 997.2 with PDK if i can fin one for a good price.

I will never understand the logic of buying a 911 in automatic. Nice car but it HAS to be manual IMO.

TipTronic... ruins the car in my opinion. Driven a Tip 997 and 6-spd 997, Tip makes it terrible
