I would also like to mention how Djokovic came over to Alcaraz' side in the semifinal and stayed with him for several minutes when Carlos cramped. That's some great sportsmanship.

My oldest daughter is a Federer fan. I recently got back into tennis and Djokovic was someone I just heard wasn't a fan favorite. When he was banned from Australia and he didn't cave to getting an experimental mRNA shot I was super impressed that he didn't cave. It takes a lot of something to be the best at a sport and to not get a shot that millions are getting to be allowed to continue your job and your passion. Knowing nothing else about him at that time made me a fan.

When a man have the mind to give up a few career defining slam tournaments in his prime to defend his body from vaccine, he deserves to be the greatest of all times. Most of us would just do what others asked us to do without the thought of fighting for our values. His on court behaviors are the reflection of his mental states. Applause to Mr. Novak Djokovic.

Mentally Nole is unbeatable. All started way earlier. When Nole was still a youngster, he was offered by British Tennis Federation to become an english citizen, his family could come over to England and his parents would have jobs over there. But he refused the offer. That means he already had huge mental belief that he could be successful by his own without relying on the UK passport. Just incredible

As a die hard Novak fan I am happy to see that there are knowledgeable and objective people out there, great analysis. I wish the great champion Rafa speedy recovery and more matches with Novak, they gave us tennis at its best.

As a Fed fan, I have to say Novak is the GOAT. There are no multiple goats. There is only one. And you can bet that Novak, when he's by himself, in his mind knows he's the best ever. He'll never say it to disrespect other legends. But the stats is how we measure and 23 means he's the goat.

The Wimbledon 2019 Final was proof that Djokovic is a mental giant. Most would have made a mistake during those two match points Federer had....but not Djokovic. Nole never gives up and always believes he can win. That match was incredible!!

Thanks for honesty, admitting it and explaining it so well. Novak truly is the greatest of all times, and of course, together with Rafa and Roger all three represents the most incredible achievement in the sports history, not just tennis history. Cheers.

Well said. There is something about Nole.. he has taken tennis to a different level. Even when he is faltering, as a fan, it gives me that extra confidence that he will pull this through. I could not say that about federer or Sampras when I cheered for them. Nadal is close but overall considering all surfaces, nole is better.

Also big Rafa fan here. I'm both happy and sad for Nole's accomplishment. Happy because I do believe this is what he deserves and actually more, and I always hated the way the audiences treated a great champion like him. Sad not because Rafa is out of the GOAT discussion (I never cared for that), but that there's very little chance that we're gonna see Rafa as competitive as Nole on the court again.

I always see Djokovic as being quite conservative on court so it's not surprising to me that when it counts he can get more aggressive and it works. He's got that extra 1% gear he's not using normally. That only the best opponents draw out of him.
