People who complain about autofocus aren't real cinematographers/film makers. They're vloggers/content creators. That's all I have got to say. S1H stomps the A7Siii.

All I see everywhere is Canon R5 VS Sony A7Siii. Like there's nothing else to choose from. While I think the S1H could be a great choice for people looking in that price range. So it's nice to see you putting out a S1H vs A7Siii comparison. Got my S1H last month and man what a beast it is. Apart from the 6K being 4:3 and the autofocus being crap (not useable for commercial work that is), it's been worth the investment.

Both look awesome. LUMIX is a bit cooler, Siii a bit warmer. LUMIX looks more filmic. Slightly.

Great vid. I shoot S1H and I'm always shocked how little attention this camera gets. Auto focus is terrible, but such a beast if a camera.

Definitely buying an S1H. GH4 and GH5 owner and have to shoot a doc soon so...think it's time to upgrade.

Both phenomenal cameras. I preordered the S1H and it’s been my main go to for the past year. But, when the A7S was announced I preordered the A7SIII and sold the S1H setup. Both have great image quality. Both have features that are different. I miss the S1H flippy screen, the built in timelapse features, and the low bitrate 6k recording. I love the Sony’s focusing system and lens options. For me, being in wedding filmmaking I relied heavily on autofocus and the A7S is exactly what I needed. So I switched over fully knowing I was losing some qualities with the S1h and gaining some with the Sony.

Loved the look of the S1H, maybe I just love the Panasonic colours, I always loved the way the Varicam cameras looked and this definitely looked close

I think Panasonic Colors are second only to Arri. But I could live with that Sony if I had to. The AF makes up for it.

Beautiful footage! Seems like the Lumix has more natural skin colors but would love to see that on a vectorscope.
