I'm Portuguese.... minimum wage in Portugal is around 650 € Then, if you have a food subsidiary, it will go 750 to 800....
Most of the house rentals or even if you are buying it is above 500,
electricity between 50 to 100,
gas for the cooking and warm water 50, internet, television and phone about 80,
This is without a car or luxury.
If you have a family of two parents with only 2 kids in school, both parents need to work and count every penny.
I'm single, and I have my own house, and I'm struggling to put some money on the side. The problem it is that it keeps rising.

Born and raised in Alaska. It's possible to be very creative on a budget, and with shelf-stable food!

I enjoy your channel! I study anthropology and I love islands the best!❤❤

Aldi is my favorite grocery store. They do have a lot of good things.
Wow 800.00 in Svalbard, that is very expensive.
Love your videos 💖

From Portugal here! My sister lives in Trondheim and I've lived there too. The food is an issue for us! She has a list of things to eat when ahe comes here. We also take a lot of things with us to Norway, wine, chouriços, seasonings, some cakes, codfish.. Next time you come to Portugal, try Sopa da Pedra ❤

Prices are raising every week in the US
Egg are almost $8 a carton at the moment.
Due to a bird flu outbreak of some kind.

Cheap compared to here (southern Ontario Canada) as well, to fill a cart would cost between $400-$800 CAD ($300-$600 USD) here depending on what you got.

Ca USA here: I am shocked when you grocery shop and show us the prices. On your remote island of Svalbard, prices are comparable to the city where I live - everything is grown right around me ? Often our food is not shipped away but stays local . It's called Farm to Fork but yet we are still charge the amount of traveled far food ... 🤔

Aldis in Australia is the cheapest of the big chains but it doesn't supply as much as the others, which is why it tends to be the second option for customers. We definitely need more grocery competition here because the ones we have get away with murder.

Aldi is the best life hack. EVERYTHING is overpriced compared to Aldi. I’ve shopped there for ages and my jaw still hits the floor bc I’m so used to paying way to much and expect it to cost more. Great place to save big time.

Grocery shopping in portugal is def expensive for the locals 🫠 Supermarkets are making records profits (highest in 30 years) while the people are literally starving and struggling to survive

The affordable food and yearlong warm weather in Portugal are a big plus for us!🌊🌺🌿

Wow I thought California was bad. We filled our cart like this at Aldi for about 300

Obviously! The cost to ship food up that far north is reflected in the price at the shelf, and since space is limitted, so is the variety of food.

Just checked Apple TV. The finale is just 44 minutes. Hearing that rumor about 75 minutes got me hyped. Maybe for the series finale.

Thanks for the reminder. I have an Aldis near me and I've never been. I'm stuck preferring particular brands of certain foods. But if their produce, fish, chicken are good quality and less expensive i need to give them a try.

Feel you!I live in a small island as well. The island is located near in 20 km of Japan. It’s Kunashir which now being a Russian territory. It’s so expensive over here and food options are boring haha.I love to go In mainland and just being able to eat fast food and many veggies, can’t wait for the next time.

I’d love to see the Aldi there to compare with the ones here in the USA vs the other countries. I find that interesting.

But after living in a very cold remote area for a year, the positive side is not having all those extra food options helps us stay in shape and not eat so much junk! Plus the constant snow removal keeps us in shape! 😊
