China responds in the escalating trade tensions with the United States, announcing plans for heavy new tariffs on dozens of US goods including aircraft, soybeans and automobiles.

China already puts billions of dollars in tariffs on American products. The new tariffs are being added to the old tariffs. The United States has a trade deficit of $400 billion dollars with China. The United States is losing in trade because China put tariffs on American products long before Trump took action. China is putting extra tariffs on American products now.
