I actually wonder if the spring inside a tape measure would work on a crossbow let's say you pull the trigger it releases the string and it pulls a sled attached to the spring coiling it tight and when the looses the bolt it pulls the string back and locks it into placeready to fire again if it works a semi automatic repeating crossbow with no electronic parts is not complicated to build shoots silently perfect for applications such as night ops or hunting the perfect stealth weapon.
