Often heel pain doesn’t get better because of a condition called plantar fasciosis. Unlike plantar fasciitis, plantar fasciosis is a thickening and scarring of the plantar fascia. Other reasons that heel pain does not improve include nerve entrapments, stress fractures and abnormal foot mechanics.

In our Seattle podiatry and sports medicine clinic we specialize in treating plantar fasciitis and other causes of heel pain. In particular we are very successful at treating heel pain that is chronic and has not responded to other treatments. Don’t live with chronic heel pain, it is treatable.

I have pain in my left heel for several years, started about 10 or so years ago after wearing bad shoes and prolonged walking. It was only happening here and there but now for past few years it has been consistently worsening and now I can’t even stand for few minutes let alone walking or running. Life as young mom of 2 has become miserable because of this. I have tried steroid injections, lidocaine injection, splint, various OTC orthotics, Hoka and some other shoes. Nothing helps. I am sooo bummed at my situation. Please help!!!

If there is a thickening or scarring, is it more prone to get re-injured?

What happens if the ability of cells to generate collagen has been affected by fluoroquinolones? I think that has not caused but definitely contributed to my plantar fasciosis. I'm having additional symptoms of fluoroquinolones adverse effects so I really can't discard that hypothesis.
But no one seems to know anything about fluoroquinolones and cellular damage. None of the several doctors I've seen know a thing about it. Not even traumatologists or even physiotherapists.
It's just so frustrating, because absolutely no doctors give ANY advice on how to trweat this, and I can only rely on other floxies' (those adversely affected by fluoroquinolones, which by the way aren't so few, quite the opposite) and not professionals who are supposed to know better than just plain me, or Johnny or Petey.

I have a chronic heal pain. My work colleague told me today about topaz therapy. I've done some research about it and it seems not to be much information. What is your opinion about it doctor? Is it a legitimate treatment?
