Here I am a year later and I still live in Washington and I am just getting back from a month in Brasil and I know for a fact that I need to live somewhere with sun ! I’m finishing my lease up until April 2026 and I think I’m heading back to either Florida or Arizona ! I will miss Washington but I just can’t keep doing this whole SAD every winter

Moved from Jax FL to Orlando FL to Seattle WA....11 years ago. Most people ask me WHY too lol. Even after a decade later. Despite these talks of a "mass West Coast exodus"...there's a ton of us ex Floridians who fled to WA. For the exact reasons you mentioned: hiking, mountain access (can't live without Mt Rainier), cooler weather, no humidity, natural disasters, mosquitoes, moderate seasons, chill non judgy people, and that perfect blend of nature and city. The seafood is debatable, since I like Pacific and Atlantic seafood equally 😆. But yeah...the PNW is the country's best kept secret even in 2023. (Especially summer when the rest of the country is melting and suffering)

All those same reasons! Originally from Bellingham, moved to Spokane, 12 years ago. Love it! All 4 seasons! Cost of living! The best! Great video!

as a gay man, i fear the political climate of florida. i also can't fucking afford to live here. at all. rent and groceries are CHEAPER in seattle than in my rural coastal city. and wages are twice as high. seems like a fucking no brainer.

I spent half my life in Florida and half my life in South Dakota. Currently back in Florida dealing with sweltering heat and tons of mosquitoes. I am looking forward to moving to the Olympic Peninsula by the first of the year.
