ICESCO’s Celebration: International Day of Women and Girls in Science - Opening Session

The Opening Session of the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, held by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), was moderated by Dr. Salim M. AlMalik ICESCO Director-General, which was followed by the addresses of Dr. Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady, First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, former President of Mauritius, and H.R.H. Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society of Jordan.
The women leaders stressed that women and girls play an active role in narrowing the gender gap.
