Mini E-Revo VXL with a 2S 2200 mAh LiPo

Just a video to show you what a 2S 2200 mAh 20C LiPo can do.
A LiPo in this car is a lot better than the standard NiMh battery.

@jessecon5 in the manual:
To turn Low Voltage Detection off (NiMH setting):
1. Make sure the LED on the ESC is on and green.
2. Press and hold the EZ-Set button for ten seconds. The LED will
turn off and then light red. Also, a “falling” musical tone will be
emitted from the motor.
3. Low Voltage Detection is now OFF.

I disabled it because the car wouldn't run with lipo saver on. The ESC is constantly monitoring the voltage of the batteries

you could blow up your ESC with 2 lipos

You can also find an adapter cable on the hobbyking website, the yellow connector is called xt60.

You can buy this battery and stick it in your erevo but it's better if you cut out the side of the battery holder, then they fit a lot better but it's not necessary. I also bought the traxxas connectors at the hobbyking website. A little bit of soldering and that's it.

@jessecon5 Use the 70/30 throttle travel on your transmitter (don't forget to reprogram the ESC when you do that). Do your lipo's have a high C rate ? I use ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 25C and they do the job. You can charge a lipo normally at 2C but it's better if you go lower like 1C. If you don't put your lipo's in series then there's no need to turn of the low voltage detection.

@QUEEKSCOPE yes you can. In the past I tried it but forgot to disable the lipo saver. That's my tip, disable the lipo saver if you do that. :)

@dudeononewheel You are giving the answer, like you say if I stay above the 3.0V, I'm very sure I was under the 3V/cell.

I use a Robbe Power Peak Fun charger in combination with a Flightpower V-Balance, I bought this for charging my lipos (3S) for my Mini Titan E325, I think this was in 2006 and afterwards I bought this Mini Erevo that uses 2S lipo's.

You can buy a battery with a yellow connector but then you have to cut of that yellow connector and solder a traxxas connector to your battery or solder a yellow connector to your ESC of the erevo.

I use the stock gears. I doesn't matter if you put 2 lipo's in parallel, you only double the capacity (mAh) but the voltage will be the same. The only advantage is that you can drive longer. If you put those batteries in series then you can expect more power.

But like you can see in my video, I use only one lipo and yes I can make wheelies with that lipo ;)

My mini e revos esc blinks red, but the steering works and then it just turns off after like 6 seconds. Plz help if can!😊

I have no idea, you could check the manual on the net.
It's adjustable.

@mengel2009 Yes you can run parallel 2 2s lipo batteries without changing the pinion gear.

andlinux

@Bass2Bucks I changed my pinion, but you can try driving with the one that's already installed, if the temperature of the motor is not to high then it's ok.

I use two of those lipos in paralel, and get awesome run times, around one hour, half of that time is at high speed. Only I have Hobbyking 2848-3900 motor.
И the way, flip your sedvo to the feft, and you'll be able to reach the button without removing the body.

I think you have to do some homework. If you fully charge a lipo then the voltage is above the nominal voltage of 7.4V for a 2 cell lipo. If you then discharge it the voltage will drop and at the end you will notice it when driving your car or flying a plane/heli. Just take your voltage/multi meter and measure it. The best way to see this is using a datalogger.

@dudeononewheel My lvc is always enabled. Only when I use my batteries in serie then I disable it. If I would have disconnected the battery after some runs (in the video above) and then reconnected it then the car wouldn't start because the ESC would kick in. I never had a lipo that was damaged.

Oops another question seen it to late.
I have no idea how fast it is, I don't have a laser to measure it.
On the box is standing 30+ mph and 50+ mph, depends on the gear and the battery (2S/3S) you use.

@cristianoid They warm up a little bit but they are not hot. I have no idea how many times you can charge/discharge them but they still have the same power today as when they were new. I hope I answered all your questions, if you need to know something just let me know.

Mine does 29mph with two series 1 NiMH packs in parallel in full speed mode, 16mph in training mode this way. With 3S lipo packs in parallel I gps'd mine at 46mph, and it's just uncontrollably fast. tires balloon on concrete they spin so much, flips over both directions front and back, even in rocks! I shimmed my differentials with 2 shims each since mine started slipping with lipos. I need a third it sounds like. It's much more controllable at high speeds with some fine tuning from telemetry.

@thedanny4l Yes, it's very difficult to put these lipo's in the battery tray without cutting out the door.
