The quote on the album cover comes from Clive Wearing, an English musician who suffers from both retrograde and anterograde amnesia; that is, he cannot remember anything before the onset of his amnesia, and he cannot form new memories from after. His mind is constantly wiping itself every thirty or so seconds. He regularly believes that he has just awoken from a comatose state.
The quote comes from a documentary about him from 2005:
"You're the first human beings I've seen, the three of you. Two men and one lady. The first ... people I've seen since I've been ill. No difference between day and night. No thoughts at all. No dreams. Day and night, the same – blank. Precisely like death."
Additionally:
"It's exactly the same as being dead, which is not difficult, is it? To be dead is easy. You don't do anything at all. You can't do anything, when you are dead. It's been the same. Exactly."
And when asked if he missed his old life, he responded:
"Yes. But I've never been conscious to think that. So I've never been bored or upset. I've never been anything at all, it's exactly the same as death. No dreams even. Day and night, the same."
Day and night, the same. Precisely like death.

What a magnificent concept for an album.

this is my favorite project from tokyopill. sad to see more than half of the songs got removed from streaming services, probably due to issues with samples not getting cleared is my guess.
