The Declaration of Independence asserts that ‘all men are created equal’ and are endowed with certain unalienable rights - ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’. When those words were written, over 52 percent of Williamsburg’s population was enslaved. This is a special release of "Created Equal", a museum theatre exploration of African American perspectives on the Declaration, the revolutions it inspired, and the ongoing struggle for equality and freedom in America. It first premiered live on stage at Colonial Williamsburg on July 4th, 2019.

All humans are CREATED Equal. From that point on it's up to the individual to EARN their place. The horrors of the past are NOT a viable excuse for skipping that step in the present, nor demanding it to be overlooked. Parents must take a role in their child's life, focus on education and EARN their place in life. That's the same no matter your color, gender, creed, nor origin. EARN IT.
"Equity by any means necessary" is complete "poppycock".

I find this program entertaining but based more upon propagating ideological propaganda and ceremony, than truth within factual historical interpretation of African American experiences in the Colonial period. What does it omit? What truths and lies does it propagate?
