My favorite part about this is how they could've easily just re-used the strip from before, but instead felt the need to bring in a 3rd LED strip to then bridge the gap that never existed and use their product twice rather than once.

With low voltage dc (like in the case with LED lights, cutting it really doesn't harm anything as the tool just creates a lower resistance loop. High voltage DC or either AC of almost any voltage is obviously (at least to some) very dangerous. LED light strips usually run about 5v and maybe a half amp (kinda depends on number of lights and brand) so 2.5 watts, meaning there is no damage to any of the components for anyone wondering, or for those saying he fried/broke something with the lights or driver.

grateful that I'm not the only one who noticed the entire process from beginning to end with the LED still plugged into the wall, now I'm waiting for him to do the same with the cables circling energy throughout the house and replace each one unnecessarily with new ones, of course, all of it while the power is still running.
