Just use percent error equation. Much easier. Subtract the two values and divide difference by the expected value.

We can do it this way too through basic math A : B : : C : D

Assume the correct value corresponds to 100 and solve for X.

So, 5/7 : 100 : : 7/5 : X

Product of means = product of extremes. This is true due to cross multiplication.

Hence, 5/7 . X = 7/5 . 100

Upon simplification we find X to be equal to 196.

If the correct value is 100 and the new value is 196, their difference is the error percentage. So, 196 - 100 = 96.

Since we assume the right value as 100 and percentage totals to 100, we can say that the error percentage is 96%.

In case you forgot the trick mentioned in the video, what I've elaborated here will come to your rescue.
