vulkan is the future, we need more developers to adopt it.

not fair, linux doesn't spy on you in the background so obviously it runs better

Ive said it before. :Linux has the power to be greater than windows at any level.

Nice, runs even better than I thought it would after the update.

I knew it was only a matter of time before this game runs better on Linux... And here we are 🙂

Yeah, there are a little of hope for Linux gamers.
Vulkan vs Vulkan on equal conditions and Linux is a little bit ahead.
I hope some day, the wine layer could go away with more native Linux games.

Can't wait to do a playthrough of this once the nVidia drivers are out of beta :)

Thanks this encouraged me to buy it from sale and it works just fine.

Huh, even under these less than ideal conditions (using Wine) Linux still outdoes windows? That CPU chart tho, damn, Windows basically shat it's pants compared to linux on CPU use.

Slightly older driver version (not sure if the actual files are older) but the Vulkan Version is new. Not calling this out to disparage the results, but those two together, and it still out performs, WHILE running through WINE? Thats impressive.

Just thought i'd come back here to add that Nvidia has a developer driver out with Vulkan 1.2.133 support and the performance appears to be a lot better (on windows) now. Driver is 451.22 you can grab it on guru3d forums just in case you don't have a dev account on Nvidia site.

How would using Wayland vs X to display the game impact performance?

Have you ever tried to use same version of Vulcan and VGA drivers for both Win 10 and Linux?
Not 445+V1.1 and 440+1.2 but SAME!

I'm on linux right now and its faster than any Windows install I've ever seen or used hands down.

It just needs better administrative tools, better error handling and reporting to the user, concise GUI interfaces with good performance, and it'l be a lot better!

- Security comes after its actually running! And if you are looking to get started easy, just use the Zen installer for Arch! Don't use Systemd!

For reference, for Arch Linux to play Doom Eternal on this benchmark, the game code has to be [not] emulated through Wine + Winetricks, running through Steam Play, through DXVK which translates DirectX into Vulkan for Linux, then it has to be processed and displayed on the screen! It drops a couple frames, but it still kicks the pants off Windows 10 even going through all that seamlessly in the background.

Friend, what program are you using to show the FPS in your games-videos? I would like to install on my kubuntu.

Wine/Vulkan is Proton on native Steam for Linux?

Hey. Do you think that there'd be significant differences between distros and how games perform on them? If yes, could you do a benchmark comparison video on that ?
