Five nights at Freddys movie update. Jason Blum at blumhouse has now given us the first cast for the FNAF movie. Mathew Lillard & Josh Hutcherson have been cast in the horror movie. Director Emma Tammi & Scott Cawthon creator of Five nights at Freddy's have written the script.

Mathew Lillard is perfect for Afton. He’s got this outward charm right off the bat. He doesn’t look scary or really suspicious, but can flip to this eerie, off putting person. That fits perfectly with Afton’s story. A man who gained the trust of people around him while luring kids into a back room to kill them. I could imagine a scene with Lillard going all Pennywise on a kid; very calm and trusting with these slightly manic episodes breaking up the conversation until he goes full creepy and kills them.

I’m glad we got Matthew Lillard in the cast. It’s not his first horror role since he was Stu Macher in Scream (1996) and if you really count it as horror, he was in the live action scooby do movies as shaggy. It’s nice to know someone with experience in the genre is in the cast.

This is great news. We also got a synopsis: the movie will follow “a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.”

I think William Afton will be played by Matthew and Michael Afton will be played by Josh. And I agree with you, Chris. But it’s a shame that Willem Defoe isn’t going to be in the FNaF movie. One more thing, the same person behind the soundtracks for the FNaF games is also going to do the soundtracks for the FNaF film.
