Yes, the six month review is a great edition. Gives those of us still making our minds up some more guidance.

Great new review format Andrew! Especially liked the side by side call outs and what this might mean for your use case. Well done and keep these 6 month updates coming!

Have been using the 9320 for school for a while now and it's absolutely great, it handles all the programming courses i have with no problems, even Android app development works great, the only minor annoyance is the battery life being a bit lacking, but it does charge very fast

It’s a trade off. You can add ports and you can use blue tooth ear buds for audio, which I prefer. Having just purchased the XPS 13 I feel, for me, it was the right one and Andrew’s review made me feel even better…..Thanks

I really appreciate a 6 months later review! Good to have reviews after the devices have actually been used for awhile. Thanks!

I have the OLED I7 XPS Plus and yes, the battery life is around 6 hours (5 to 6 hours). I picked up the Dell battery brick for it when I travel to double the time i can use it. I have the white XPS Plus, i kind of wish i had a docker model. there are times in decent light conditions where its hard to see the keys with the white backlight on the white keys. And the haptic track pad does make it a pain to find left - middle-right mouse clicks though thats more of an annoyance than an issue. I am still happy with the 9320. I bought mine with the 512gb storage and replaced it with a SAMSUNG 980 1tb disk. It was cheaper going that route than paying Dell for the upgrade to 1tb. At the time I got the unit on release the Dell Software tool did not support the Windows 11 on the 9320 so I had to use other software to clone the installed m2 to the new m2 drive i purchased.
Also note, a month ago Dell recalled the OLED model units and swapped them out with replacements because there was an issue with the glue coming apart on the screens. I just got my replacement system.

I love the XPS plus design, and when it's time to upgrade my 9300, I'll seriously consider the XPS plus. I just need Dell to add a higher refresh rate, atleast a 90Hz, and also a better 1080p webcam that still supports windows hello. Dell should bring back our microSD slot and 3.5mm headphone jack. Oh.. What's up Andrew. I hope you are doing well. I like the 6 months review 👍🏿.

Upgradability has always been the key with me so as gorgeous as both of these machines are, I would definitely go with the one that has the upgradable SSD. Having said this, however, go with the highest RAM and SSD you can afford during the ordering process. Thank you Andrew!! 👍😁

The problem with only having two USB-C ports on this is an illusion. When plugged in you really only have one port available and nothing else. The cameras on these are mediocre. The 9315 model with the nonremovable ssd is a nonstarter. If I were to purchase I would look at the 14 in HP Spectre especially when it is on sale as it is a much better unit for the money. If I had to purchase the Dell unit I would purchase the previous year's model. Great comparison video.

I like the format. It's always a good idea to do a long term review. I generally don't by a computer when it's very new on the market so I can determine if there are any issues I need to be aware of.

Thanks Andrew, You mention the refresh rate of 60Hz, how i wish the 13th gen can have that bump in refresh rate !

The XPS 9315 (12th gen I-7, 16/512) I bought in late March 2023 melted down in early June. Motherboard was replaced after significant backorder delay. It didn't function and now needs another motherboard. My premium service contract support was terrible. Maybe the 13th gen is better but I will say BUYER BEWARE!

I recently bought 9315 and thanks to you! Because after watching your previous review I was so impressed that I bought it, and I love it! Thanks Marc ❤

My favorite laptop. It's gorgeous and portable.

I like the 6 month format as these devices will go on sale when the new ones come out.

How much of a concern is the non-replaceable SSD on the 9310 from the point of view of disk failure? 512 gb is plenty of capacity for me, so I can't imagine needing more in the time frame I would have this for. But failure is a different problem. If it fails, can it be replaced without paying a whopping amount for the replacement?

I think that function row is great... on my older xps 13, I never know if I'm on the F row or the others

Absolutely killer design, but two MAIN deal-breakers for me: Battery (which used to be the upside for these models) and the laptop being a finger-print magnet which nulls the design aesthetics as you'd always have to be wiping off the smudges. Also, it got hot after a while. These are reasons I sold it off after couple of months of use.
