What To Do To Prepare for Endwalker! | 20+ Tips | FFXIV

These tips range from gil-making to character specific tips! It's never too late to start preparing, so I hope this video could be of some help to anyone playing for the next expansion!

Another good tip and one I have been doing personally is sending squadrons out for the crafting and gathering xp buff manuals. They give 20% xp so it's a personal grade 3 buff

I'll give a few dissenting opinions and people can make up their own minds:

Stocking up on current foods: don't go too crazy, because there will be new NQ foods that are better than the current HQ foods, accessible early on. That's what happened in ShB and SB and is likely to happen in EW. If you have all the mats sitting around or they're super cheap, then no harm in having them, but don't break the bank. 20-40 of any food should be way more than enough.

Syrups on the other hand may not have a vendor version available, so if you can't craft the new ones until 86, 87, or 88, you may be happy to have the "old" ones for awhile.

Ditto for putting pentamelded gear on your gathering retainers. Gathering retainers don't even make use of the GP stat, and at least in ShB, the thresholds for gathering and perception were pretty low, so they could go from 70 to 80 gathering high quantities with just scrip gear.

If you have a bunch of slithersands and other mats sitting around, then make aesthete's and meld it, but don't go too crazy overmelding, and if you don't have the stuff for it, you'll have a pretty easy time just buying scrip gear for them while doing weekly deliveries.

Here's something you might want to prepare for your crafters and gatherers though: cheap materia like grade 4 (which can be got for 25 yellow scrips each). Spiritbonding speed is increased for every materia that's melded on a piece of gear, regardless of materia level. This means that when you make your level 90 crafting gear, you can toss in 1-2 grade 8, 9, or 10 materia, and then pentameld it with super cheap materia just to speed up the process of getting more max level materia.

If grade 7s get really cheap, then maybe buy those off the MB instead, but otherwise I recommend grade 4s.

Stocking up on crystals isn't a bad idea at all. Way better to buy 10k of each now for 100 gil each than to end up needing them if the prices go up to 1k apiece, which is what they were at during the first few weeks of Shadowbringers.

Personally I have about 50k of each, 20k of each shard and cluster. If they really do go to 1k each again, I'll be very rich very quick. If not, they're still unlikely to be as cheap as they are right now.

I would like to start EW off with crafting and gathering so would you guys recommend going straight for it or should I level my character first and do MSQ to access the zones so I can gather all materials etc?
