While I never attempted to play the whole game with a blue shell, I did often try to play through levels with just the blue shell back in the day. Yeah, vertical ones are a pain.

A few years ago I also tried to clear levels with just blue shell. I love the blue shell so much I was so sad when it didn't come out for any of the newer NSMB games

Blue shell was my absolute favorite power up! I would always try to beat all mg favorite levels with the shell. I LOVED every single snow themed level with it.
