Kursk is home to military staging areas modern infrastructure, and population centers.
The Ukranian invasion demonstrates how incompetent Russia's military is. The effect far outweighs the real estate.

The outcome of the Ukraine war is not important solely vis-a-vis Russia. Defeating Putin will show other dictators that their imperialistic futures are in doubt. With Russia removed as a (if not the) prime source of world intability and arms, other autocrats will be forced to do a serious rethink of their situation.

Only the younger generation - those from after the Cold War - would think that Russia could ever have joined our side! The leopard doesn’t change its spots and the bear will remain the bear until such time it is severely beaten and humiliated. This is the time to do that - a time not of our choosing, rather a time of Putins choosing - but we must grasp the opportunity he has given us and support Ukraine in a way that allows them to win and not just survive!
