I can remember ニ very easily, since it looks the same like the Kanji ニ meaning 2, which is pronounced as に.

I remember ノ as “no way that’s actually a character”.

Katakana is crazy. English words totally could have been “spelled” with hiragana but for some reason someone or some group of people felt it was necessary to let everyone know a word was not Japanese. It makes me wonder if it’s an indicator of how deeply ingrained racism really is in Japanese culture.

I'm confused with the usage of ”ー” and "ッ" in words. When is either used? Or are they interchangeable because they both make the letter before them sound longer? Please help.

I noticed some of the sumo wrestlers use the katakana ノ(no) for the part of their names instead of using kanji. Please explain why it is named that way.
