This sensor applies the Doppler effect to detect moving objects using microwaves. It differs from the method used by a regular infrared (IR) sensor as the microwave is sensitive to a variety of objects, and its sensor readings will not be affected by the ambient temperature.

Digital Microwave Sensor is widely used in industrial, transportation and civil applications such as measuring vehicle speed, liquid levels, automatic door motion detection, automatic washing, production line material detection and car reversing sensors etc.

Please do consider to make FMCW radar module of same cost range. it will be of much use as it can measure distance of stand still object. for that oscillator has to be a VCO with extra analog input.

@DFRobot, is this a stand alone module? Like can this be used as a switch by itself ? (Without Arduino board). I need something that can switch on 12V led Lights. And can I adjust the duration it stays on?

Hey. I have bought this sensor after watching this video and but I am very disappointed with DFRobots, the range is not continuously adjustable. Its either 18m then 1m and 2m. No change in range is there with potentiometer. If we keep the pot in between of min and max then too it is 18m and if we take it to min, then it becomes 1m.
Very disappointing.
