Yum! My nagymama would make lángos (but, in a pan with oil not deep fried) to go with gulyas on snowy winter days (My granddparents and mum emigrated to Canada in 1956). We would not add cheese - we would rub it with fresh garlic then add sour cream that had been warmed in a bit of butter. So healthy 🤣I make if for myself once in a while but everything was better with her ❤

I first had Langos the first time I visited Hungary 36 years ago. The memory never left me, so when i visited Budapest twice last year i obviously had to have it again. Well....here I am, craving langos yet again

my cousin comes from Hungary and we have had langos many times. I love it when it is just rubbed with a clove of garlic and then sprinkled with salt. :) I am also going to Hungary for the first time in August (from Australia)
and cannot wait to see it.

First of all, thanks for your videos 🙏🏻😉 These are, in my opinion, the best you can get here on youtube to get more knowledge about Budapest. In the last 2 years i was 4 times in your beautiful city. And yes, in the small, non popular markethall near citycenter is a very tasty langos. My personal favorite place was the retro langos. Very nice staff and a huge selection of different toppings. The included bar is also nice where you can enjoy a drink. In the first week of march i will be back again in budapest and then i have to try this new one at gozsdu. Thanks for this tip. 👍🏻😉

Me and my husband are so excited that we discovered your channel. We are going to Budapest at the beginning of March and all these tips and info are helpful. We both visited Budapest before but it is always better to have some advice from a local since we are interested in food and not all the typical tourist stuff. We are both from Romania but my husband is Hungarian and knowing the language will make the experience even better and fun. I am so excited about it! :)

I mean the Classic is classic for a reason. Though I will say that I once had Lángos with a bunch of red peppers on top. The peppers were prepared in some way, not quite sure how. What I am sure of, is that it was delicious :)

Many thanks for another excellent video! For me only sour cream/cheese! And with jam for kids. Also thanks for previous vids about public transport and places to eat traditional food. I asked for it in comments and now I feel honored. All the best for you and your beautiful wife!

I was in Budapest for a long weekend and I can confirm that Gozsdu Lángos Bistro was very tasty! We had a traditional lángos and one with red onions (with a couple of beers, ofc). Food and service were great! Thanks for the recommendation!

I've visited Budapest three times and I'm coming back for Easter this year. For my first visit five years ago, we stayed by the Dohány street Synagogue (which is beautiful, i highly recommend a visit) and around the corner we found Drum Cafe - it is definitely focused on tourists, but has decent prices and in my opinion, their langos is great. They dont skimp on the cheese, it's not too garlicky, and there are plenty of options for toppings. we have come back there every time we are back in the city, we go back and its just as good as it was the first time ❤

Love langos! Retek Bisztro was the first one I ever had and set the standard. Was so desperate to have another one before leaving Budapest we stopped in at Marika Langos - a little kiosk in a car park in Vecses, 5 mins from the airport. Hit the spot!

I love the classic langos with sourcereme and cheese, but also with some spice and non spice herbs on it.. Having the white cheese & souercreme together with spicy herbs (red) and chives (green) also gives a nice symbol of the Hungarian flag. In my hometown is each ear a world food fair, there i always take langosh, also we have all 2 years a medieval festival in my hometown where you get langos... and every time when i am in Hungary in holiday I buy langos and other Hungarian food

We visited Budapest in december and went to Krumplis lángos in Flórián tér - it was so nice and well worth the trip outside the city centre 🎉 Also tried lángos papi but it felt very subpar compared to Krumplis. Thank you for the great recipe btw, we followed it a few weeks ago and it was really tasty 👏
