I had two thermostats causing conflict. Sending mixed signals to the AC/Heating unit. While it was trying to heat the home a signal was being sent to switch the reversing valve, essentially trying cool the house while the heating coils were trying to correct it and actually heat the house. Took me months and a lot of trial and error to figure it out.

Heat pump, t stat needs to be programmed for the reversing valve to change in cooling.

This happened to my dad where the company tech wired both heat and cool into the same relay. Either options fired up both heating and cooling 😮

the heat pump that runs the hot vent has its reversing solenoid wired wrong

They have a heat pump. Thermostats installed wrong. Typically you can go into settings and reverse it and fix that. Or was that a air return that was not connected. So heat is flowing out of the attic?

I have had simula issues with just one vent. While the other rooms are very cold, almost no air is cooling that room. Have had the vent examined twice and no problem was found.

They ran out of flex and rigged it to use a whole 25' x 4" uninsulated fart fan duct that's causing the air coming from the trunk to heat up on it way through to the boot. Or something similar

They forgot to install the condenser on the outside. They figured the attic is good enough

Are you sure that one is not tied to a return that's disconnected. What was the air flow measurement? I always check every register for airflow and air flow direction.

Cover the hole with a vent or no duct attached. Could be wired wrong on the-stat. Heat coils stuck on. Who knows. Either way good catch cause that ain’t right.
