Ex-police sergeant John Smith. Remember him from part one? He didn't mention it in his witness statement. Well anyway, here he is allowing all sorts of questionable behaviour and documents go on under his nose... nit that he can "recall" it of course.

as a retired police officer I am loving Jason showing his contempt for those witnesses with a legal or law enforcement background as every single one of them knew what was required of them legally but they chose to protect the post office. You can see from his face and the questions he asks that he has utter contempt for them..keep it up Jason

Jason Beer is an absolute star. His patient questioning and refraining from emotion or reaction to the replies he is receiving is a winning strategy. He’s even dealing with the “don’t recall” answers in a ruthless way. He’s putting those difficult questions in context that destroys the credibility of anyone claiming they can no longer recall a particular fact. He’s just slowly and methodically building up the evidence that will show these POL witnesses as the self-serving crooks they really are. Many of us following this enquiry seem too cynical to believe that justice will prevail. If this was always going to be a whitewash I don’t think they would have appointed Jason Beer to the enquiry team. He’s deadly and he has my respect.
As an aside, we’ve heard POL Head of Security J Scott was a police officer for just 7 years. We haven’t heard why he left what is normally a 30 year career after such a short time? Makes me wonder!

This man claims to have found new employment, and I wonder if his current employer is watching this performance of evasion, and what appears deliberate forgetfulness. The degree he claims not to recall anything would leave me reccomending he visits a doctor for a dementia check up.

What a complete charlatan. Devious, forgetful and ambiguous. You would have thought with his experience as a serving police officer that past transgressions with the law will come back to bite you. Jason Beer is ripping his integrity and credibility to absolute shreds.
