I am building a 20x30 shop that has 10 foot tall walls. To build a basic wall I am using 2x4's for studs. fire blocking is installed at the 4 and 8 foot marks to also allow for sheathing attachment. The basic wall build is the easiest out of the walls. I am including a California corner in this wall so that I can install my interior sheathing.

Well done. A trick for standing up stud walls is to attach 2 or 3 scraps to the rim joist so that the bottom plate can't slide off the deck.

I recommend using wall jacks. You can lift a complete wall with them.

Great videos! I like to measure for my blocking down at the plate in case the studs are bowed one way or the other in the middle.

Ese plástico va a retener condensación de agua como mínimo. Madera siempre húmeda....

Why 4”? Wouldn’t it be 3” as you’re measuring from the bottom plate to the top plate? So 1.5” for the bottom plate + 1.5” for the top plate. Making the studs 9’.9” and totaling 10’?

Does the California corner make running electrical wires around corners more difficult?
