Why Bellagio is Overrated

We have stayed at Bellagio numerous times but are torn on our love of it. Rachael Loves it and Josh finds it to be overrated but both consider it iconic. Let us know what you think about it

We have two NEW CHANNELS as well, please feel free to check them out if you are interested:

If you are interested in Running or learning how to run and train please check out Rachael's Channel titled Running After 40. This will feature some of the travels that we do that might not make the main channel since they are Running Trips as Rachael tries to complete a Race in all 50 States in the US! We will also be preparing for a Marathon together and that channel will show most of the training that occurs in a weekly/monthly vlog format showing the ups and downs of running after the age of 40.

On our "Smokin On a Traeger" Channel we will be smoking and barbecuing at home and sharing our recipes that we love to cook at home. Pork Ribs, Pork Butts, Steak Chicken and so much more.

Bellagio is a great location and have stayed several times, but they are a victim of their own success…so many people are in the lobby/conservatory and walking through the casino after the foundation shows that it takes away from the luxury/exclusivity feel. I spend a lot of time at the pool during my visits and Bellagio’s pool complex, while beautiful, is overcrowded. Josh also shares one of my complaints with Bellagio…the lack of mid-tier dining (especially for breakfast). Cafe Bellagio used to be a good option but they closed it. I also think Noodles is being closed for upgrades at the end of this month so hopefully it remains “mid-tier” when it reopens. My go-to places now for luxury and a relaxing pool experience is either Waldorf or Wynn Tower Suites (waldorf rooms are nice but not the biggest, so Wynn is my current favorite). Great review-keep them
coming!

I hate the showers too, that's where the tub used to be, it's hard to keep up with the newer casino rooms when it's 25 years old. Among the best things are the overall ambience, size of the property, the fountains and the conservatory. Now that's it's connected to Cosmo I think the two hotels make a perfect 1 2 punch where you can alternate between modern, high energy and classical elegance and scale. Hopefully Cosmo rooms will get the Bellagio fountain music soon since it's now owned by MGM. Great video!

Bellagio is our all-time favorite, and we've stayed at them all. As frequent visitors to Vegas, we have to agree with Rachel on this one! Not overrated. :) but, I do understand a lot of the points you made on both sides. However, we were surprised you didn't mention our favorite place in the Bellagio, The Vault, the new speakeasy. It is a must stop for us every time we are there. Love your videos!! Thanks for the great content!

I must be getting old, I stay away from center strip as much as possible.. Never stayed at Bellagio but have always liked checking out the Chinese new year display. Vdara used to be my go to, but now Ive moved up north on the strip to Encore or Crockfords.
I value the less chaotic nature of the north end, I also feel MGM and Cesars is in some unspoken contest in a race to the bottom when it comes to diluting status, nickel and dime fees, mediocre service all the while keeping their prices high

Bellagio is my favorite las vegas place to stay. Your review is spot on. I agree that the herds of people walking through with no spacial awareness is quite annoying. Stay off the path and walk on the outerside of the casino. Way less people. I also started staying in the Spa Tower. I love it. It's quieter and is conveniently located by the indoor walkways to Cosmo and Vdara. If I want something affordable to eat, I go to the Cosmo food court, or I cut through vdara to Aria. Also, the conservatory has gone downhill IMO. Lots of large figures surrounded by flowers. They try to space them out so that it looks like more than it is. It didn't used to be that way. The awe of it was that the figures were made of flowers. And there are way too many people packed in the conservatory. But hey, it's one of the very few attractions that is free in Vegas and it's doing what it's supposed to do...Bring people in. Don't forget about the gorgeous Chaluilly glass above the lobby. Now that never gets old.

I'm coming in late to leave a comment and I liked your video a lot Josh and Rachael. The Bellagio is the most luxurious, beautiful and iconic resort in all of Las Vegas. Unfortunately theirs no way i could ever stay there because it's too expensive for me. All my Las Vegas trips I've only stayed at Circus Circus and regardless what other people say it's not that bad. Great video Josh and Rachael😊

Great review. I’ve never stayed there myself. I totally agree that it’s super smoky up in there! I go to see the seasonal display and then get out on my trips.

I agree about the heavy foot traffic between the check in and guest elevators. It can be so thick at times especially when you just want to get to your room. People walk so slow and once the booze kicks in they just kind of stand there staring at the black jack and roulette tables. Also, I never found Noodles restaurant. I saw the overhead sign for it but when I walked in that direction I didn't see it. Sadelle's isn't bad for breakfast especially if you are traveling solo. One can also walk to the Cosmopolitan via the Bellagio and I like the "Secret" Pizza place there. There is also a good ramen shop across the street called Ramen-Ya between the Horseshoe and E Flamingo Rd. And then there are the restaurants at Caesars next door which can be accessed through Bellagio. And then there is the tram to Aria and MGM / Park. Lastly, they hit you with that security deposit which I think is BS but that's a Vegas thing and I get it that some people rip up the rooms.

Oh that's so interesting...I have never stayed here b/c I get better offers at other MGM places, but I have it on my list just to see. I agree that I find this place packed and couldn't understand why, so thank you! I used to love the lobby at Mirage too. Thank you for another great video!!

Fair review. Shower is ridiculously long, like it needs a keys and wallet table half way down. We had our discussion on food. Lol. Best views in vegas, to have a meal with! Super busy all the time, that's for sure. The room itself we didn't find bad. Spacious and the view! Come on!

Josh’s points are all valid. But that view + the location + the sentiment (as you mention @ 14 min or so) its hard for me to call overrated. It’s almost in its own classification to me. Once again, great vid!

I love that you are so honest and fair and professional in your comments. So many other you tubers just rave and we all know nothing is perfect. One chair is just bizarre.

Thank you SO much for saying that about the room. I noticed on their website that they had remodeled their rooms. There is no statement or flair. Motel 6

After going to Vegas for over 24 years, I stayed at the Bellagio for the first time in Jun. There are some areas that need an upgrade. Especially the sports book and bar. Prime steak was so good I went twice. I feel like they need a casino lounge better than the baccarat bar. My king room had a huge bathroom with a closed off toilet. It was fun, but l probably won't stay there again. I'll just visit the conservatory and eat at the nice restaurants.

I completely agree with Josh here. I stayed one night last year and would never stay again. Nothing is luxurious in that room and overpriced. The food options are horrible and non existent. I will definitely stick to my preferred hotels which are Palazzo, Venetian, Wynn and Encore.

The location is the best thing about Bellagio, although, I tend to win there more than other places. Oh and the conservatory is always impressive.

There used to be a really cool nightclub called Light. It was to the left of Snacks with an upward escalator entrance that took you up to the club. Not sure when it closed but glad I got to experience it. I'm surprised they don't bring it back. It was always a super fun time.

Hi Josh and Rachel,
I have a hate / love relationship w/ Bellagio; As you said, the (free ) drink service seems more frequent but then again the foot traffic is busier then any mall in Canada 😂 I love the overall decor, but agree the rooms need to be up to the standards as, say, the Wynn. That being said, we are treated well at Bellagio w/ free upgrades overlooking the fountains and room service was good to us ; however, the low end “daily food” options have drastically gone down hill, while the Dining Options are still great w/ Fountain view Dining, Yellowtail Japanese ( so good! ) Prime Steakhouse and the The Mayfair Supper Club ; all awesome and entertaining . Of course the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is always a treat.
Nevertheless, I was saddened to hear Chef Julian Serrano would be retiring; and his revered restaurant at Bellagio, Picasso, would close. Sad news for the Chef community, but happy to hear he’s retiring, just like me ( I’m retired now) ! ( it’s fun catering high end culinary entrees but there’s a time to say, it’s enough) I will miss his culinary expertise for sure ; and his warm quail salad with sautéed artichokes and pine nuts. ( You know how hard it is to debone Quail 😂)
Thank you for sharing— Cheers Chef Bari ( PS : I hear Bellagio is expanding )

I stayed at Bellagio once because I wanted a special stay (usually I’m at Aria) but I was underwhelmed. Maybe my expectations were too high but I found it meh. That being said, I’ll continue to play there, see the sights and dine at Harvest. You didn’t mention them but it’s my go-to restaurant there. Fits my style best. So I have to say your review seems spot-on. Thanks J&R. Have fun on the 1st; wish I could join you guys…next time hopefully 🎉❤
