The 140 is a great receiver. Here Mike takes a look at this neglected 140 and starts the journey of making this radio perform again.

In this video we deal with the power supply filter caps and a troublesome resistor. We also have a small learning module about choke input filtering and cap replacement.

Great to see you starting on a Hammarlund. I have an HQ-145 and an HQ-180A. both receive well, but the 145 could use an alignment to improve it's sensitivity. I really love the Hammarlund receivers' Thanks for all the great information. I'm interested in the software you use on your laptop when doing an alignment. Maybe you could talk more about it.

You know it's a great receiver when they didn't bother to make it too pretty. 😁🇨🇦. Restore!

Did you have to align the I.F. cans? or do an RF alignment? I am working the same exact receiver. It is an XA model. same issues you found on resistor and I used the same one you did.
I did get the hayseed cap can instead of using caps under the chassis. if you can show how to do a I.F. can alignment with a spectrum analyzer and tracking generator. would be help.

I'm kinda wondering how the fuse can be in the wrong place when it, or at least mine didn't, have a polarized plug
