After singing gospel for a number of years, Joe Simon turned to secular music when he signed a contract with Vee-Jay in 1964. His second single released on the label was, Let's Do It Over, which peaked at #6 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 10/2/65. Not long after it's release, Vee-Jay went out of business which left Simon looking for a label. He ended up at Nashville's Sound Stage 7, where his career really took off.
