The internet named it the Lochness Monster!? This is my first time hearing about it. Also sturgeon normally get this big. And yes it's definitely more then 100 years old. They grow slowly and are an indangered species. So please DONT FISH FOR THEM!!! I'm from Canada and I've seen a few and they're big but beautiful

This on the Columbia River in the Northwest? Caught a little one (always a throw back). Bonneville Dam has a sturgeon pool showcasing the giant fish. Amazing!

They may be endangered up there but there not down here. If WA state has allowed people to fish for them the past decade…I don’t see how they could be endangered. WA is pretty good about closing fishing for any species even getting low in numbers.
These old dinosaurs are pretty cool though, they have scales the size of your hands. It is most definitely older than 100yrs and probably 12-15ft long and probably in the 600-1000lbs from what I can see🤯….which isn’t uncommon but definitely not super common to see them. I’ve seen dozens between 4-9ft long though. They are super interesting creatures for sure and if you catch one, be careful and make sure to keep it in the water and release it as you should. Do research if you don’t know the proper ways to handle them. Cheers 👍🏻
