So many salty power lifter bros in these comments 😂 All I can tell you from personal experience is that once I started squatting this deep, my legs blew up in size and I no longer get knee pain….🤔

It’s also based off the force-velocity curve and the sensitivity training of muscle spindles. Him resting in the lowest position (long sustained stretch) just killed the whole purpose is the lift by stimulating the GTOs and causing inhibition.

That squat depth is illegal in powerlifting.

Sitting at the bottom doesn't do anything other than maintain mobility. It's extremely easy to sit there. Try sitting half an inch or an inch above full depth.

I have to go a lot lighter to squat deep and hold like this. Like 50% of my 1RM. But it is definitely freeing in a sense, you get to feel like Atlas holding the earth for a moment 😅

Just go to whatever is comfortable although it should be 90 degrees or lower

is he resting in that position or is there tension ? I can hang in the bottom and rest but if I go just a few cms from bottom with weight 5-7 secs is quite tough to hold and power through
