New Colors for 2015 Premo Sculpey Polymer Clay

In this video I will share with you the new Premo Sculpey Colors for 2015.

The 2 new regular colors in the Premo line are Wisteria and Periwinkle. Wisteria is a soft Fuchsia based Purple... and Periwinkle is a pretty Purpley Blue. There is no color shift between baked and unbaked samples of these clays.

Coincidently, two other Premo Sculpey colors have been discontinued... Denim and Navy. I can't help but wonder if this is an "out-with-the-old-and-in-with-the-new" strategy from Polyform.

There are also 2 new Pearl clays, that are very lovely. Sunset Pearl is a bright Coral Pearl color, and Graphite Pearl is a silvery Gray-Black Pearl... just like pencil graphite. These clays have high mica particle content and are good using with mica shift techniques.

Also, there are 3 new glitter clays. Rose Gold Glitter, White Gold Glitter and Yellow Gold Glitter. They are all somewhat translucent based clays with silver and gold glitters in them, each with a different base color. Rose Gold is a Coppery base, very similar to the manmade gemstone called Goldstone. White Gold Glitter has an Old Hollywood look of vintage Silverleaf. And Yellow Gold Glitter has a golden shimmer that is very pretty. They can be mixed in different combinations to create Champagne Gold and other pretty metallic derivatives. These clays look even more metallic when they are baked, than what they look like in the package.

Lastly, 1 new color, which actually should be in a Faux Stone category, is the new Opal. This is a translucent clay mixed with large flake Opalescent flakes that is translucent when baked. (You can easily make this clay yourself, using Premo White Translucent clay and Iridescent Glitter Flakes often known as Buffalo Snow.) Because the large flakes tends to "stick out" when you cut this "color" into shapes, it not suited for cane making. The protrusions would leave drag marks in the cane when slicing through it. However, this new Opal clay is suited for making beads and cabochons... as well as for doing inlay techniques.

There are several new products by Sculpey for 2015 which I will share with you in upcoming videos, including the new Colored Liquid Polymer Clays - Silver and Gold.

I just got both, the new premo colors and your opal tutorial. I haven't tried out the tut yet, maybe today, but I've seen the video, and look the same thing. I prefer to be creative and make it myself, so thank you very much again, for sharing with us your great tutorals. Seems like you have inspired Sculpey too!

Could you possibly do a video on comparisons between all the colour options available, i.e. mica powders, pastels, eye shadow, different rubs you can put on polymer clay before and after you bake and what finishes to put on after, I.e. varnish, etc.to give a flat or shiny finish, what works and what doesn't. Thank you. Love your videos. Look forward to Monday mornings.

Thanks for showing new colors, especially baked. Was not sure if wanted to invest in buying them. And thank you for cautioning about the large flakes in opal. Would be heartbreaking to ruin a cane due to large flakes. Will experiment with small amounts an see how it plays out. Looks like it would be a great addition. Thanks for all your videos.

Love all the new clay colors. I got both the gold and silver liquid clay and I would love to see different ways to use it. I have a million ideas for it, but would love some direction so I don't end up wasting it. Thanks!

Thank you for showing us! I'm getting so fed up with my local craft stores, I am unable to find the new colors anywhere!

Thanks for the info on the new products. A comparison to the old similar colours would be helpful if you have samples of them. All those little squares would make a great reference chart on what colours are out there to buy or what you have already. Thanks again.

Just an excellent demo, as always Cindy! THANKS ! I'm curious if you can get a similar look by adding fine glitter to similar Premo colors. Any thoughts on that?

This was my first time watching any of your videos, I loved it!!!  I've subscribed and am wondering if you've done a tour of how you organize your supplies.  I'm fascinated by the drawers of color in the background of your video.  Thanks so much!

Have a Sculpey "Opal", but it's nothing even close to the new Opal you showed us. Can't find this new Opal anywhere in stores or online and can't find out when it might be available. The Rose Gold and others are available, though. Sure would like to get the new Opal you showed us.

Did you order the new colors? Or find them in-store? Because I've been looking for them in my crafts stores, and they still aren't on the shelves.

I am confused why a colour is called rose gold if its a copper shade. I see on the picture it doesn't have a pink tone to it and I was really hoping it would have or is it just the screen that makes it look copper? help please? thanks

Been looking, calling and checking online for the new "Opal" and the new glitters.  Not to be found.  Do you, by chance, know when these might hit the shelves or websites??
