The first was to break Engma Marian Rejewski in December 1932, together with other mathematicians Jerzy Różycki and Henryk Zygalski created methods and devices for breaking Enigma codes. In the summer of 1939, two Enigma machines with the methods of breaking were handed over to the British and French. Based on the devices and information provided, Alan Turing improved the methods of breaking the Enigma codes, and improved the "Rejewski Bomb". I recommend the book "XYZ" by Sir Dermot Turing - Alan Turing's nephew, in which he describes exactly how the Enigma code was broken, the book is great for a sensational movie.
