A beautiful and touching ceremony. To see those veterans at their advanced age stand to receive their medals was more than touching. What heroes. I cried during the entire ceremony. Thank you and those no longer with us for your service to freedom and democracy.

I make models an I just realized I was working on one of the ships that was at the D-Day invasion while watching this. I'm almost in tears now.

My dad served in Normandy along with his brother. My grandmother only 2 children

When I was born, it was 82 years after the Civil War, and when I was growing up in the 50s, we still had veterans still alive from the war between the States.
We are the young kid on the block compared to the world as a nation.
WWII tested not only us but all the allies' mettle.

we will all come and go, but the soldiers who who gave their lives that day landing on the beaches of France into the teeth of the enemy without cover uncommon valor D day and the veterans who have passed since then and the veterans who are still with us god bless them.
