truth sounds like a professor whos had a question on the board with a very obvious answer and someone finally says it after 20 minutes.

I love how excited Truth sounds in this scene. It’s elated that someone finally figured out that alchemy is both source and result of human arrogance, the first person ever to give up their power for people rather than giving up people for power, like in the creation/use of a philosopher stone. In the end he praises Ed and gives Al back with something akin to joy. I also like how this is sort of a mirror conversation to Truths conversation with the Father.

The truth is officially a favorite of mine just for this scene. The fact that this Deity thing is honestly happy about being beaten is something I don't see very often.

It always amazes me just how Ed overcomes Truth, in that by sacrificing his alchemy he's also sacrificing anything and everything he wanted to do with that alchemy so just before Truth disappears the being 'wants' exactly what Ed wants, hence why it speaks with Ed's voice.

When he said “I’ve got your payment right here, so go ahead and take it” I was floored. I literally asked, out loud, “You can *do* that?” when I watched it for the first time. I thought he would offer his arm or something. Y’know, arm for brother, undo the exchange.

But no, he kept his arm *and* his body in a way I absolutely did not see coming.

Can we talk about how Truth wasn't expecting this? It reacts shocked at first, then laughs, and asks several times if Ed is totally sure that it's what he wants to do. And when he reaffirms it for the last time, Truth's absolute joy is still shows traces of shock, although it fades near the end. Little short stack was underestimated by everyone, including Truth and still he beat them all
