what do psychiatric medications do to your brain and metabolism?
Показать описание
Psychiatric medications can be helpful or harmful. They are widely prescribed for adults and children alike. They can be useful in acute crisis and short term stabilization period, however they cause many unwanted and harmful effects long term.
As a Psych RN, one of my responsibilities was to administer and monitor psychiatric medications. I noticed an interesting pattern right away. Some people responded okay to psychiatric medications, others were greatly harmed by them. Overtime I realized that long term psychiatric medication use was more harmful than helpful.
In my own journey, I experienced a variety of harmful effects - weight gain, brain fog, memory issues, dependency, fatigue, anxiety, depression, bipolar type illness, and suicidal ideation. It made me question, do psychiatric medications cause a "chemical imbalance" in some people just like birth control pills?
