The thing is, the "Illusion Tree" probably MAKES the Devil Fruit, but when a Devil Fruit user dies the fruit is reincarnated into the nearest normal fruit, soy theory is the Tree creates the original fruit, and every time the fruit user dies it reincarnates and can be eaten again

the illusion tree makes the devil fruit then that devil fruit always exists somewhere, it doesn’t need to be recreated by the tree, it just turns into another fruit when the user dies

I think it is early concept, but not necessarily discarded it could have changed into something else like the treasure tree Adam.

The existing df get teleported to the nearest fruits once their user dies. But they might originate from the tree. We already have 2 major trees in the one piece world.

If i have learned anything watching one piece about Oda...it is that everything written by him is legit and has a meaning...nothing is meaningless.

“Originates” - meaning the origin.

Just because the fruit turns into a nearby fruit on a users death doesn’t mean a new fruit is created, the origin is the same, the fruit just “reincarnates” as other people are putting it into another fruit.

If every time a devil fruit user dies a devil fruit is crated then where did the first devil fruit come from. They probably came from the illusion tree
Other word is if a takes a devil fruit to make a devil fruit then the only way for devil fruit to exist is from a external source like the illusion tree.

My fav thing i noticed in one piece is a visual error, when sabo saves a haki-less luffy in dressrosa, he is coming from burge’s right but then kicks him from the left. And i think it happened in the manga too (Sorry bout the spelling mistakes)

The Illusion tree is where Devil Fruit Originate from. How the fruit itself continues after the passing of its user os a different matter, thus why there are never 2 people with the same devil fruit

I think the tree creates the original fruit from scratch and when someone eats it and dies the fruit reappears somewhere close

Once there was this one humongous tree long ago that produced fruits so unusual and scary that no one ate it but one man decided he would eat one, a brave man named nika he ate this purple fruit with wavy bumps, it tasted disgusting but once he threw up after he took a bite his neck extended all the way into the ground and sounded like elastic, after everyone finally realized it was the trees fruits that gave super natural powers the goverment went into a mission to take all of the trees fruits there were millions so it took a long time. After all the fruits were seized the island was attacked and destroyed by the goverment. This island was Ohara and its humongous tree also known as the Illusion tree.

Most likely the illusion tree was where the devil fruits were originally created, and when a devil fruit user dies they go to the nearest fruit that looks alike they dont just keep growing out of the illusion tree.

I personally think that new devil fruits are made from the illusion tree but old ones like we see in punk hazard are reformed in a new place unlike new devil fruits like the hand hand fruit which allows u to make new weapons which must be recent because they couldn’t have had that before those weapons even existed or like kochi fruit which would’ve been made after Mochi was invented
