I love how you organize/outline your content. Detailed but not to the point that it doesn’t leave any room for personal discovery. It’s easy to follow and understand, and also very practical tips! Great job 👌🏼

I'm visiting Kyoto next week for the first time. I hope to fit everything in in two days before moving on to Osaka. I was very lucky to get train tickets on the new Aoniyoshi sightseeing limited Express train from Kyoto to Osaka. Its brand new and looks awesome!

HI Kenchan, what you said at the end is correct. Always allow more time for the bus journeys as there were many times i had to stand due to lack of space in the buses.
i chose to stay in omiya area as we wanted to stay near nishiki market and the shopping district. because of this choice we took the hankyu line to omiya instead of jr line.
another advantage of staying near a hankyu station is that we could easily take it to arashiyama. it was a wise choice for us!

We will be visiting Kyoto with two kids in December. We are thinking of taking taxi/shared ride as main mode of transportation. Is it easy to hail a cab? Does Kyoto have Uber? Or any other shared ride? Thank you 🙏

Kyoto is close to any reasonable good city in terms of transport then?
You're just spoilt by the world's best transport service, coming from Tokyo?

Hi Tokyo Kenchan, I will be in Kyoto in August 2024. I will be staying 1 night/2 days. I have a JR Pass. I will be site seeing places like Kiyomizudera, Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Nishiki market, Gion area. Then I will be catching JR train to Osaka. Where should I stay in Kyoto? I am told to stay in Downtown Kawaramachi. However, there is no JR lines there. I would like to stay in a business area and be able to walk 15 mins to Gion and be able to walk 10 mins to Kyoto Station as I will need to catch the JR train from Kyoto Station several times. Where would you suggest I stay based on the info I provided?

Thank you for the great video! I can’t wait to visit Kyoto 😊 I wondered if you could advise me on which dates in November 2023 it would be best for me to travel to see autumn leaves?
Would it be better for A) November 17-22 or B) November 21-26?
I heard that November 23 is a public holiday (labour appreciation day) in Japan and I was worried about too many crowds then, but wondered if the autumn leaves would be nicer a bit later in November? Thank you so much in advance! 🙏🏻

Hi, this is our first time to Japan. Which area of hotel do you recommend we should stay? Near by Kyoto station or Kawaramachi area? we are family of 4 with 2 teens and we are coming from Osaka and stay in Kyoto for 4 nights to see tourist attractions & walk around/eat&shop then travel to Tokyo (Shinkansen bullet train.) with 6 luggage. If you can suggest?
