Great video, had to be excessive resistance if you have voltage drop when switch was open.

My dumbass didn't even realise SimplyDiag is most likely your Business / Site. Had a quick look, I'm interested in Auto Electronics myself, I'll have to join up with the Technician course as an apprentice. Fabulous knowledge.

Back to basic and fondermental Steve it’s another video packed with too much to take away, thanks for sharing mate, I have one to look at soon but interestingly I have fault code for this one with P164D reduced oil pressure .

STEVE, ur AWESOME thanks for sharing.

I've always been taught for volt drop testing, plugged in trying to work so then the current flow will be exactly what's required if that makes sense.
If self loading with a test light what would you recommend a minimum current draw to be? I.e the OTC 3633 is 150ma I have another test light at 300ma then a trusty 21W and of course the legendary H7

The new workshop is looking good mate... Steve just out of interest, do you find a lot more corroded connections on peoples cars if the engine and gearbox under tray is missing, or does it not make much difference?

Hi steve, as you have an idea where the prob is, would it be worth trying a thermal image camera in that area . I use mine quite a lot so it may be worth a try . . Great vid and thanks 👍

That must've been really bad for a DMM to pull the voltage down like that. Being a cheap one it might not be 10 megohms but it's probably at least 1 meg.

Hi Steve😀 really enjoyed the vid, you mentioned on the white board around 10 mins in, that if there’s any load on the circuit the volt meter won’t read 0 volts, good number.... do you mean resistance, The test lamp you are using you said at one point is an led. I know you use incandescent test lamp as this loads the circuit, ready for testing the volt drop using the volt meter.
Looking forward to the vid, if you show us please the Oct3000.
Must say things are looking brilliant, well done you. Awesome 😎
