In Colorado, newer homes are built out of fiber cement, cedar, vinyl and brick facade. And people are buying them at a high price. I prefer brick. My current home is 2/3rds brick and 1/3rd vinyl and I just sold it. The faster home builders can put up a house the better for them$$$. There was a recent fire near Boulder, CO, took down over 1600 homes like they were made out of paper. The homes were cheaply made. Hard to find a brick home anymore. Cost of labor is high.

I was hoping for a more honest comparison 😕. Good lord, was that object penetrating the fiber cement fired from a canon? Ive had hardie color plus frosted green fiber cement on my house for 15 years. Still looks great. The caulking where the trim boards meets my azek is separating over time though so its not really 100% maintenance free I will agree. Im a little too chicken to go up there with a ladder I must admit. I was thinking of using Quad OSI but I must admit I'm not a fan of 36 foot extensions ladders. 😖

Would be nice to see a more critical look at brick too; from a brick purveyor, the buyer doesn't know what you're not saying but a competitor might. How much does the underlayment/backer board material cost for a brick facade, etc. On another subject, I long for the day when we retire the term 'dream home'.

Well in my country all houses are made of either clay brick or cement brick

Isn't there an air barrier between the structural wood home and brick itself? To my knowledge, on a wood home brick acts more like a shell and not add to the structural integrity of the house itself. Unlike brick cladding/Veneer would and provide some r-value I would assume. Stucco is another good option since it would add to the structural integrity of a home since it's practically conrete. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This definitely is just a commercial to sell your brick products but from the standpoint of a contractor, like myself, things are not this easy. You can do with fibercement boards everything you can with brick with a fraction of the cost. I can make fibercement walls look like real brick. I understand you have a product and you back your product but it's unethical doing so by basically lying
