The Secret Drill for an Easy, Effortless Golf Swing

In today’s video, I show you the drill I do that helps me shoot in the low 70s consistently and even break 70 numerous times.

The drill shown in the video is a basic step drill and is crucial for teaching you how to coordinate and sequence your golf swing. This can help you become more efficient, increase your speed and consistency.

Here is how to perform the drill:

Drill:
- Start with a half stance
- Small step right
- Take the club back
- Small step left around waist high. When you land on this left foot you want to feel like the pressure increases fast as the left shoulder works down and forwards
- Hit towel with an abbreviated follow through

To start with hit a towel as this will help you break the motion down so you can learn it faster.

Once you have mastered this, then move on to doing the step drill with a golf ball.

After this repeat the process, but this time do not step. Instead substitute the word step for press. Imagine you have a gas pedal under each of your feet.

Work on this drill for 10 minutes a day at home with the towel and you will see massive results in your golf swing

Interesting 4 part "step and hit" drills Giles! It seems, in watching you perform this drills, that on the course, timing would be a crucial factor in making the swing. Phase 3 reminds me of how I emphasize the right heel to left toe movement in my swing. Always learning or validating from you Giles! Keep Up The Good Work!

The drill is amazing. I work with Gill on Skillest and I have added 10-15 yards on my irons and it is really changing my swing for the better. I was stuck on right side at the top causing me to spin out. The drill is very hard at first but keep working at it!

Wow wow wow wow wow! I’ve just done this for 30 mins with the towel & then head to the course. I’ve never felt a swing like it! It was like cutting through butter, just so smooth! I’m going to be doing this daily!

I'm gonna do this move 1, 500 times every day for an entire year. I have a grass mat at home where I can perform this drill. It'll be 21 years since I last teed it up so this will not only knock all the rust off, but turn me into a golf swinging machine. Thanks

As u press down do your left foot during downswing, are u suppose to keep the left hip back to match right hip?
