Farm Life Isn't All Roses

We had a visit from some unwanted guests today and suffered some losses. Not every day on the farm is fun. Nope I'm not showing any of the gruesome aftermath.

This video was filmed on 7 April 2022.

Sell the remains of the 8 birds to the responsible neighbor for the full price or double, Eric
I'm so annoyed with such unnecessary loss

To be honest, I've dealt with a neighbor's dog taking out multiple flocks. The best way to go about it is to go to court. A documented case will make them stop. Get animal control involved, and ask to go to court. My neighbor stopped immediately after that. But it was 5 ducks, and 24 chickens later for me. Plus $300 dollars in fencing. Sorry you are dealing with that. It's never a good time

That really sucks Eric. Me personally I would be ruffling my neighbors feathers since it's not the first time. Sorry for your loss as I know how much time you spend taking care of your animals.

OMG! Ruffle feathers!!! Please! You’re too kind. What if the next time it’s not an animal it goes after. Sorry for your loss This dog should not be left loose. It wouldn’t be in my town. 😢😡. P. S. How many did it get?

Oh no! That’s terrible. Neighbors need to be good neighbors and keep their dogs under control

Well I would think I would start ruffling a few feathers and contact the local authorities and let him know he'll be charged for any more poultry that comes up missing. Besides once a dog gets that habit they won't stop. And you'll be looking out for your other neighbors who might not be able to afford losing birds to the dog. I hope you get it to stop but it's hard to say what will happen. And I think I'd be ruffling a few feathers even if your neighbor doesn't like you can always point out to him that so far you haven't shot the dog most people would have done so and the next neighbor might not be quite so kind if his flock is messed with. I hope you don't lose any more birds and as far as the one that is seriously winded I would probably go ahead and put it down and if it's the size to eat I'd have a early turkey dinner. Well good luck with your flock I hope things get better and the dogs put up where he won't get out and get into trouble.
