Walmart Just Ruined The Grinch

The Grinch returns in a new Walmart commercial that acts a sequel to How the Grinch Stole Christmas. While this new Grinch promo is beautifully animated, it shares a message that goes against the original Dr. Seuss story. Why did the Grinch Walmart commercial do this?

The impressive part here is that Walmart managed to missunderstand the story more then illumination did

So much for Christmas not coming from a store. They couldn't have missed the point of the Grinch any harder if they tried. But at least the animation is gorgeous, really captures the feel of the original Chuck Jones short.

I’m in it for the animation quality; yes it’s a commercial but often times more budget and money is ironically put into commercials like these so of course they’re gonna go hard. I’d support not just the spot, but the studio in hopes that we can maybe see more stuff like this in an actual series or film one day.

You know, I just saw the ad yesterday, and I didn't think about the implications too hard. I was just appreciating the animation, but I was a little confused that the good Grinch was stealing when his heart had grown already.
But I get it now

Curse you Walmart, Like you haven't done enough damage already. Now you had to go and ruin a timeless classic. I mean at least the animation fits but still.
